With ContractExpress DealBuilder lawyers are able to respond faster, more effectively and more consistently to the demands of their business or clients. The time consuming task of editing a fit for purpose document from a standard form is eliminated and replaced with an intelligent questionnaire, which captures the terms of the transaction. Questions are only asked if required, and are only asked once irrespective of how many times the answer is required in the generated document(s). The productivity gains are impressive. One click can reconcile hundreds of occurrences of optional text nested to any depth, each of which would otherwise need to be individually considered and manually edited in a Word document. ContractExpress DealBuilder transforms the ease and speed of automating complex legal documents from legal templates and eliminates the complexity inherent in traditional document assembly tools. With ContractExpress Author, the template creation component of the system uses an intuitive, plain language mark-up in Word, which has been developed by lawyers for use by lawyers. This approach enables the system to automatically create the Word template, eliminating the need for technical specialists. ContractExpress DealBuilder’s administration application provides a comprehensive and simple to use means of managing document templates and configuring the ContractExpress DealBuilder system.

Servers, templates and other entities are presented in a tree view, enabling them to be organized into folders, to allow large collections of templates to be managed efficiently. A step-by-step transfer tool supports the import, export and transfer of templates, including the automatic inclusion of referenced sub-templates allowing families of templates to be created that include common elements. Templates can be disabled or deleted when they become obsolete or if a version was published in error.

The behaviour and appearance of the web pages users see are controlled by profiles, so a single server can support radically different “look and feel” in concurrent sessions.

ContractExpress DealBuilder provides extensive data management and reporting. Each time a document is assembled, the data about that document and all the answers associated within are stored as an XML answer set. This enables custom reporting and interoperability with line of business systems.
